About

 Hi I'm Shannon

Hi! I’m Shannon Sawtell, a passionate advocate for sustainability and an experienced marketing professional. With a B.S. in Marketing, a B.A. in Sustainability Studies, and an M.S. in Marketing, I have dedicated my career to empowering individuals and organizations to embrace sustainable practices that drive meaningful change.

"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it."  – Robert Swan

My Journey

My sustainability journey began with a middle school beach cleanup, igniting a lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship. Since then, I’ve led impactful projects to inspire environmental action - from founding the #UNLITTER internship program and directing marketing initiatives to crafting a training plan for the UF Sales Competition Team and leading a team to raise over $55,000 for TEDxUF. I also worked to get the #UNLITTER Bottle Cap mural to Gainesville City Hall, where it hangs as a reminder of our responsibility to protect the environment.

I am currently a Program Manager at HP. I have mentored over 200 interns across HP Inc, #UNLITTER, and the Environmental Alliance, guiding the next generation of leaders in sustainability, marketing, and many other fields. My mission is to equip this generation with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to drive meaningful environmental impact and build careers rooted in purpose.

I believe

through education, collaboration, and innovative thinking, we can create a brighter future for our planet and its inhabitants.
